This our most popular tour for active adventure travelers in Alaska. The tour begins from Whittier, Seward or Anchorage and begins by traveling to Talkeetna for a night of relaxation and an early morning departure for a 4-day wilderness rafting trip down the Talkeetna River. After the river trip travelers will arrive in Denali National Park and after a day of rest and more rafting on the Nenana River will begin a 2-day biking tour along the park road into the town of Kantishna. From the park you will take a bush plane flight out to the park boundary where our private shuttle will transport you to the Kenai Peninsula for the last few days of your tour. In the Kenia you will enjoy some world-class salmon fishing and a chance to test your mettle on the Class V Six-Mile Creek. Your last day in the Kenai will give you the chance to choose between a full day sport-fishing adventure for Halibut and Salmon or a Kenai Fjords tour to spot killer whales and to see thundering glaciers calving into the ocean. Accommodations vary from deluxe catered camping along the Talkeetna River to breathtaking views from one of our select luxury accommodations.
12 Day Extreme Alaska Adventure
Day 1: Arrive in Anchorage, Seward or Whittier and then transfer to Talkeetna. You will have private transportation from your arrival point to your luxurious mountain view hotel in Talkeetna. After settling into your lodge your guide will take you on a walking tour of downtown Talkeetna and then take you to a local restaurant for some local cuisine and some cultural nightlife.
Day 2 - 5: After an early morning breakfast we will board a small bush plane, shuttle our gear, food, and courage into the Talkeetna Mountains for a 4-day trip into the wilds of Alaska. This jewel offers spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and Class IV whitewater. The Talkeetna is rated one of the 10 best rivers in the world and the best all-around whitewater wilderness river in Alaska. You will arrive in Talkeetna on Day 5 to settle into your lodge.
Day 6: After breakfast at the lodge you will join your guide and begin your scenic drive to Denali National Park. In Denali you will settle into your lodge to relax before your early afternoon rafting trip on the Class IV Nenana River. Your evening is off with some free time for exploration, shopping or just relaxing at your lodge.
Day 7 and 8: After a healthy breakfast we will drive to the end of the pavement into Denali National Park and then hop on mountain bikes and begin the ride into Denali National Park. With a full support vehicle, a warm camp and tents set up half way through the trip you will see Alaska as most people only dream. Denali (Mt. McKinley) will grace the skyline of most of your trip, while the Alaskan wildlife roams freely in the tundra surrounding the road you will be biking on. On the second day you will be arriving in Kantishna to settle into your lodge for the evening.
Day 9: After a relaxing morning in the park you will board a bush plane for a return flight back to the border of the park where you will meet your shuttle and drive south through Anchorage to the small fishing village of Seward. Here you will settle into your hotel and have the evening free.
Day 10 and 11: Breakfast every morning will lead to a new adventure. While in Seward you will enjoy a half-day of fishing for world class Salmon, a half-day of extreme rafting on the Class V Six-Mile Creek, and an optional day where you can either spend a day visiting the Kenai Fjords or go Sport Fishing for Halibut and Salmon. Evening return to Anchorage.
Day 12: Morning in Anchorage for your return flight home.
