Alice Miller Bio - Adventures Around the World

Alice Miller is the marketing manager for Adventures Around the World. A Northern California native from Nevada City, Alice graduated in May 2006 from UC Berkeley with a degree in music theory and composition. She is a jazz and classical pianist, composer, conductor and lover of travel. She has a great interest in the music of other countries and throughout college was the gong player in the Berkeley Javanese Gamelan Orchestra. She also worked in marketing for the San Francisco Opera.

In addition to her musical studies, Alice was the president of the Cal Ski Team and spent much of her college career skiing and racing in the Sierras. She is a three-time All-American Collegiate Athlete and continues to alpine and telemark ski as much as possible.

After graduation, Alice moved to Breckenridge, Colorado, where she worked in marketing for the National Repertory Orchestra Summer Music Festival. After the summer ended, she began to work for Spin Creative Studio as the project manager of the Vail Resorts advertising account. However, once the snow started to fall and a powder day became a daily Summit County ritual, Alice left her job with Spin to ski. It was at this point that she began to help the Holmquest brothers in marketing Adventures Around the World.

Although the classical music industry thrives in metropolitan city life, Alice prefers to be in a quiet mountain environment skiing, mountain biking, trail running, reading, writing and thinking. She hopes to extensively travel the world and build a career as a composer and musicologist.
