Alaska Land Destinations: Whittier, Kenai Fjords, Seward, Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali and Fairbanks.
Whittier- Whittier is the embarkation and disembarkation point for many cruises from Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle. We can arrange a wide variety of Custom Day Trips that can be enjoyed Pre-or Post Cruise while traveling between Anchorage and the cruise ship terminal in Whittier.
Kenai Fjords- At the tip of the Kenai Peninsula lies a land where the ice age still lingers. In Kenai Fjords, glaciers, earthquakes, and ocean storms are the architects. Ice worms, bears and whales make their home in this land of constant change. Native Alutiiq used these resources to nurture a life entwined with the sea. Explore this site to discover Kenai Fjords, its history, science and remote splendor.
Seward and the Kenai Peninsula – Located in South-central Alaska and is one of the most active and exciting places to visit in Alaska. Situated at the head of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula, Seward is one of Alaska’s oldest and most scenic communities. Known as the 'Gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park' Seward is a picturesque town located 126 miles south of Anchorage. Visitors can easily reach us via the Seward Highway Scenic Byway, the Alaska Railroad, or by bus, air, or cruise ship.
Upon your arrival you will discover our bustling harbor and historic downtown district filled with quaint shops and art galleries. Experience trophy sport fishing, glacier and wildlife cruises, sailing, hiking, kayaking, flight seeing, summer dog sled rides, and more. Seward is also a winter wonderland offering cross-country skiing and snow machine adventures. At 3,022 feet, towering Mt. Marathon provides a breathtaking backdrop for the town. Behind Mt. Marathon and extending down the coast lies the Harding Icefield, measuring 35 by 20 miles.
Anchorage- Anchorage is the gateway to Alaska and a unique destination located in one of the world's most spectacular settings. Embraced by six mountain ranges and warmed by a maritime climate, Anchorage is alive year round with adventure, recreation, seasonal festivities, sporting events and more. During summer the days seem endless. Dazzling displays of flowers adorn homes and storefronts, live music fills the air, Wild Salmon on Parade sculptures appear along city blocks while kings and silvers are caught right downtown in Ship Creek.
An urban metropolis surrounded by wilderness, Anchorage provides all the amenities and conveniences of a large city, but leaves behind the normal congestion and hectic pace of cities outside of Alaska. Anchorage has a large and active arts community, and is included on many U.S. tours of major theatrical productions. A city which boasts an extensive beautification program, Anchorage is called "The City of Lights and Flowers."
Talkeetna- The historic village of Talkeetna is nestled at the base of Mount McKinley (Denali), North America's tallest peak. Talkeetna has an outstanding panoramic view of the Alaska Range that can be enjoyed and photographed from several places as you wander through this town and discover what this unique location has to offer. Flightseeing, fishing, riverboat tours, hiking, nordic skiing, mushing, mountain climbers, great lodging, great people. Talkeetna is a place to enjoy no matter what time of the year!
Denali- Wild and primitive Denali National Park encompasses about 9500 square miles (approximately 6 million acres). Though it derives its name from the native name for the tallest mountain in North America, Mount McKinley (Denali – "the high one"), it also includes Mt. Foraker at 17,400 feet and Mt. Silverthrone at 13,220 feet.
Many glaciers originate on the slope of the Alaska range, Muldrow being one of the largest, reaches close to the park road and is visible from several locations. The Park is located about 240 miles north of Anchorage and 120 mile south of Fairbanks on the George Parks Highway. Denali tours can be divided into two regions. The North Region, near the town of Healy is where the park entrance is and has rafting, dog sledding tours, flightseeing tours, and wilderness adventures. The South Region, near Talkeetna offers spectacular views of Denali and has flightseeing tours, river tours and fishing adventures.
Fairbanks- Fairbanks is called A “Golden Heart of Alaska.” As the hub for Alaska’s Interior and Arctic it has first-class accommodations and restaurants, museums, some of Alaska’s top-rated visitor attractions, historic sites, Alaska Native culture, and access to the Alaskan wilderness. Activities, dining, shopping, lodging, services and means of transportation provide countless options for visitors. Fairbanks offers you the amenities and adventure in a style that is truly Authentic Alaska.
