SOUTHEASTERN REGIONThe Appalachian Mountains provide incredible hiking, biking and camping surrounded by lush green forests. There are many scenic trails and beautiful drives that extend through the Shenandoah National Park and along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Some of our favorite rivers come rushing out of these mountains, such as the New River and the Gauley. The mountainous terrain also provides climbers with excellent areas to scale with classes and guides available. The long history of this area is highlighted during the summer with many Civil War events and destinations such as Gettysburg and Washington D.C.
NORTHEASTERN REGIONTucked in the upper reaches of the United States, the Northeast has limitless opportunities for rock climbing in the summer and ice climbing in the winter. The Appalachian Mountain Club maintains a series of cabins and lodges throughout the mountains for travelers interested in a multi-day camping adventure. In Maine there are a number of dam-controlled rivers to for rafting and kayaking in this region. With a 400-year history and incredible outdoor opportunities, the Northeast is a great place to explore.
MIDWESTOn the northern border of the United States lies a series of rivers and lakes that can be traveled on day trips or for weeks at a time. We design kayak and canoe trips exploring the remote regions of the Midwest.
SOUTHWESTERN REGIONRaging rivers and delicate sandstone have shaped the Southwest into mile-deep canyons and free standing arches. There are many rock climbing opportunities near Las Vegas, Moab and all points in between. Rafting through this region is unbeatable on the Green River, the Colorado River and many more. Other opportunities such as mountain biking, hiking and camping are best done in certain seasons due to heat and weather. This region was once populated by Native Americans and remnants of their culture exist on cliff paintings and dwellings built into the sides of cliffs.
THE ROCKIESServing as the jagged spine of America and dividing the water between the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean, the adventure opportunities in the Rockies are endless. The mountain climbing is excellent with some of the highest peaks in the United States. We arrange many ski vacations, as well as incredible ski tours and ice climbing adventures. The spring thaw instigates the rafting and kayaking season, as well as uncovers mountain biking trails in the area. The summer is great for camping and hiking through this high alpine region.Â
THE WEST COASTBlessed by beautiful weather and endless opportunities for travelers, activities are ongoing year round. The coastal regions provide great surfing and clear water diving. The Sierra Nevada Mountains are beautiful and provide excellent skiing and snowboarding for both beginners and experts. The spring and summer bring the rafting and climbing season with countless rivers and crags to explore while on vacation. The famous Napa Valley and wine country, as well as the gold rush history and regional opportunities for adventure make the West Coast an amazing and diverse area to visit.
NORTHWESTERN REGIONThe Northwest is the most lush and green part of the United States with craggy peaks and coastal opportunities. The mountain ranges are volcanic with great introductory mountaineering routes and excellent skiing during the right seasons. A few hidden treasures include climbing at Smith Rocks, kite surfing on the Hood River and whale watching in the bays outside of Seattle. In the spring, the snowmelt creates world-class rivers like the Rogue the Snake Rivers for incredible rafting and kayaking. Well-known for the long rainy season, both the winter and summer are great times to visit the Northeast.
