We are dedicated and passionate explorers ourselves. We want to see every part of this world and experience what it has to offer, physically and mentally. We have extensive experience in the locations we travel to and know the culture, as well as the ins and outs of the countries we explore. This enables us to provide you with a memorable trip.

Why should I have my trip custom-designed by Adventures Around the World?

We have done all of the legwork, so you don't have to. Your trip will be custom-designed based on your activities of interest, cultural desires, and fitness level. Your meals, guides, transfers, lodging, activities, and services have been expertly organized from the day you land to the day you depart. You can enjoy your perfect adventure and not the hassles of pulling the pieces together.

What types of traveler do you design trips for?

Our custom trips are designed for active travelers and can be designed for couples, honeymooners, families, multi-family groups, and small- to medium-size groups. Our adventure travelers consist of active people of all genders and ages. They all share a love of the outdoors and the passion to explore the world and experience new cultures. Most of our travelers are in good physical shape, as most of our adventures require you to be somewhat physically fit. No matter your ability, our adventures will make you feel a great sense of accomplishment as you participate in the activities and culture that our locations have to offer.

How big of a group can you customize a trip for?

At Adventures Around the World, our adventures are customized for small and intimate groups. We feel that a maximum of 12-15 people on each trip allows for a diverse group, comprising of both men and women of different nationalities and ages. A large component of our trips includes interacting with the community. A small group ensures that we can travel light, get to know each other and become involved in the local festivities and activities. These can be the most breathtaking and memorable experiences on your adventure.

Can I book activities through Adventures Around the World?

Yes you can. If you do not need a fully custom-designed trip, we can book just certain activities for your trip. We have activity contacts all over the world and can recommend preferred vendors and operators. Click here for a list of activities that can be booked.

Does AAW do non- or self-guided trips as well?

Absolutely. We can design your trip as a premier guided or self-guided adventure. On our self-guided trips we track and follow the trip from our office to ensure that everything goes smoothly. You will have a detailed itinerary with all the information you need. We always call the vendors to confirm everything.

What is a day like with Adventures Around the World?

A typical day with Adventures Around the World begins by waking up to the sounds of the ocean or to a spectacular view of the mountains. A local breakfast will give you the energy to tackle the morning’s activities, which could include rock climbing, hiking, scuba diving and many more. A native local lunch during the day will feed your hunger as you experience the culture of the country you are in. In the afternoon, expect to be challenged and participate in an outdoor activity or explore your surroundings. Dinner with the group is nourishing and fun as you talk about your trip, tell stories of the day’s activities and get to know the other travelers in your group. In the evening you might visit a local village or experience the sunset on a local beach. As you settle into bed after a challenging but rewarding day and drift off into sleep, you know that you are truly in a special place that you will always remember.

What are the accommodations like?

At Adventures Around the World our travel accommodations vary by location and clients’ desires. We see to it that you stay in the best accommodations—historic inns, western ranches, world-class resorts, and national park lodges. Each is picked to provide a distinct sense for the region visited. We also make sure you'll have the best rooms with the best views. No matter where you are, we promise that you will feel like you are in a wonderful and amazing place that is all your own.

What do we do for meals on our adventure?

All of our adventures require energy to keep you physically and mentally fit. We consider our meals to be an important part of your experience. We guarantee you will have plenty of good, wholesome food and drink to keep the energy juices flowing. Your menu can consists of specialty dishes prepared by your guides, as well as dining in local restaurants to experience the native flavor and cuisine. A western option is usually available for those of you with a somewhat less flair for exotic foods. Any special dietary needs can be addressed if we are informed ahead of time.

How difficult are trip activities?

How fit should I be to enjoy an Adventures Around the World adventure?

AAW’s adventures are designed for active individuals who love to travel and experience new activities and culture. However, you don't need to be a fitness guru to enjoy our trips. That’s the beauty of a custom trip—you decide how active you want to be. Click here for our activities.

Who are our Guides?

Your expert guides are our key to providing you a memorable experience with Adventures Around the World. Our guides are experienced, seasoned, and responsible leaders. Our guides are chosen for their knowledge and expertise in outdoor activities and the area that you will be traveling through. Whenever possible we will use local guides at the location you are traveling to ensure your safety and experience on your trip. Your safety and guaranteed enjoyment is our primary responsibility and concern.

What about equipment and supplies?

When we use local contractors for horseback riding, canoeing, snorkeling or kayaking, we select the ones with the highest quality equipment, in-depth experience, and impeccable safety records.

What's included in my trip?

Since your trip is custom-designed and personalized for your group, what’s included can vary. We can include lodging, activities, meals, transportation, guides, and flights. Through our itinerary drafts that you will receive, your group will be able to choose what they want to include on their trip.

Do you provide travel insurance, trip cancellation and medical insurance?

We do not provide travel insurance, trip cancellation or medical insurance for our adventures. Medical insurance is mandatory on all of our adventures. Can I talk to someone who's actually taken the trip I am interested in?

You bet. Our past guests are some of our best sources of information. Often, they are passionate about travel and would love to talk with you about their experiences. Just give us a call, and we will provide references for the specific trip you're interested in.
