You will travel in ultimate luxury, with a private guide and driver and staying unique resorts and hotels throughout the country. In between exploring national parks, flying through the jungle on zip-lines and surfing the Pacific coast, you will lounge on pristine beaches and enjoy all the “Pura Vida” (pure life) that Costa Rica has to offer.

Day 1: Arrive in San Jose transfer to Arenal - La Paz Waterfall Gardens
Upon arrival at San Jose International Airport, you will be met and greeted by your AAW guide will meet you outside the Juan Santamaria International Airport for your 40 minute drive to La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Enjoy a guided hike and lunch. Continue on a 3 hours drive to the Arenal Volcano region an the Tabacon Hot springs Resort. The evening will be spent relaxing in the hot springs and enjoying the breathtaking scenery of one of the most active volcanoes in the world. You will be able to hear Arenal Volcano's deep rumbling and hopefully witness an explosion that will send red-hot lava rocks tumbling down its steep slopes. Tonight, you will enjoy a welcome dinner and orientation with your guide. (L, D) Accommodations at the Tabacon Hot Springs Resort.

Day 2: Arenal - Zip-line Canopy Tour
You will have breakfast on your own at the resort and then you will let your Costa Rican experience be taken to new heights as you soar through the jungle canopy on zip-lines! Lunch will be on your own in town or at the resort. You will be transferred back to Arenal for the night, with time to enjoy the hot springs if you wish. (No Meals) Accommodations at the Tabacon Hot Springs Resort.

Day 3: Arenal - Lava Falls Hiking Tour
You will have breakfast on your own at the resort and you will go for a short hike with a local guide to the Lava Falls trail to have an amazing unobstructed view of the Volcano. Along with incredible views be prepared for the rumbling mountain as it spews lava rocks down the slopes of the mountain. Lunch will be on your own in town or at the resort. You will be transferred back to Arenal for the night, with time to enjoy the hot springs if you wish. (No Meals) Accommodations at the Tabacon Hot Springs Resort.

Day 4: Arenal to Playa Ocotal (5 hours) - Rio Coribici Wildlife Float Tour
Following breakfast on your own, your driver will take you around the Arenal Lake to the North Pacific Coast, stopping en-route at the Corobici River. You will enjoy a guided floating, wildlife observation 2 hour trip here and then lunch. Your guide will then drive you to the Ocotal Beach Resort. (L) Accommodations at Ocotal Beach Resort.

Day 5: Playa Ocotal - Private Surf Lesson
Breakfast will be at the resort and then enjoy a private surf lesson in Tamarino. Playa Tamarindo, though famous for its beauty, is also famous for its consistent waves. This morning, you will be able to experience them firsthand on a private surf lesson. Afterwards, you will have the afternoon free to explore the beach, or the local town of Tamarindo. (B) Accommodations at Ocotal Beach Resort.

Day 6: Playa Ocotal - Mangrove Estuary Guided Boat Tour
Breakfast is at your resort and afterwards you will join a Mangrove Estuary guided boat adventure helping you to explore the Coast surrounding Tamarindo. You have the afternoon free to choose from the plethora of activities offered in this natural paradise, including fishing, scuba diving, or relaxing on the Beach. (B) Accommodations at Ocotal Beach Resort.

Day 7: Playa Ocotal - Explore Playa Ocotal
You have today free to choose from the plethora of activities offered in this natural paradise, including fishing, scuba diving, or relaxing on the Beach. (B) Accommodations at Ocotal Beach Resort.

Day 8: Playa Tamarindo to Liberia (1 hour) - Return Flight Home
After breakfast, you have the morning free to explore and do any last minute shopping or activities. After lunch you will be transferred in your private vehicle to the Liberia Airport to catch your flight home. (B)

Private AAW Guide and Driver: Your trip will be led by a private AAW guide and a local private driver, allowing you to travel in luxury and without stress. Your local guide and driver will be highly knowledgeable about your destination’s sights, activities, and customs, and will handle all aspects of your trip. Making A Reservation
If this sounds like the perfect adventure vacation for you, just contact your travel agent or Adventures Around the World directly to make a reservation.  A 25% deposit is due immediately, with the balance due 60 days before departing on your adventure.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, as well as checks payable to Adventures Around the World. Please review the AAW Terms and Conditions before payment, as you are bound by our Terms, Conditions, Payment and Cancellation policies once we receive your deposit.

What’s Next?
Once we have received your trip deposit, one of our adventure travel professionals will provide you with pre-departure trip information and packing lists, as well as a guest information questionnaire and liability release form to be returned within 10 days. After that, we will handle all of the details as you relax and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

Important Policies

  • Your deposit of 25% of the total cost of your vacation is due immedetely upon booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to departure.
  • The price shown is per person NET, and does not include international air fare to/from the trip start point.
  • Prices are based on current rates of exchange, government fees, tarrifs and taxes. Any increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
  • We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes. We will endeavour to confirm final hotel bookings as soon as possible.
  • Cancellation - Cancellations 60 days or more prior to departure will be subject to a 5% cancellation fee. 60-30 days will be subject to loss of 50% of trip cost. 30-15 days will be subject to loss of 75% of trip cost. 15 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
  • Payment of the program price constitutes your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions set out by Adventures Around the World.
